Introduction
This new webinar will explore the myriad of intellectual property issues that arise when considering the fast-evolving technology and processes involved with 3D printing, or ‘additive manufacturing’.
The use of 3D printers is thought to be growing at a considerable rate; not only now on a personal ‘at home’ basis, but also in large scale manufacturing.
Whilst there is an absence of published court decisions on the topic, potential issues may arise relating to the CAD files which contain the digital model of the item to be printed, the software used to facilitate the 3D printing, and any intellectual property rights in the item itself that is to be printed.
The webinar is aimed at legal professionals, in-house counsel and branding teams who are concerned about protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights against the threats posed by this new technology.
What You Will Learn
This webinar will cover the following:
- Potential infringement of the core IP rights (patents, copyright, designs, trade marks) by way of the different acts and processes relating to 3D printing
- Potential infringers and how to identify them
- Remedies
- Practical steps to take for rights holders
