Introduction

This virtual classroom seminar is an introduction to family mediation, designed for those who are interested in undertaking the mediation foundation training course and working towards accreditation. The live session will explore the theory behind mediation, what mediation involves, its benefits, and what it feels like to be in the mediation process from the mediator and client’s perspective.

There will also be an overview of the process of becoming an accredited mediator and the different routes that can be taken in order to achieve accreditation.

Now is a great time to consider the benefits of becoming a mediator, following the changes to the FPR earlier this year, which conferred a duty upon practitioners to notify the court of all NCDR options considered and undertaken at each stage in the proceedings.
