Introduction
Claims arising out of treatment in primary care touch upon almost all areas of medicine, and frequently give rise to challenging medical, legal, and procedural issues.
This virtual classroom seminar will provide a detailed exploration of a number of those issues, including a review of the cases that have been decided at trial in recent years, with a practical focus on the evidence that Judges in those cases have favoured or rejected.
What You Will Learn
This live and interactive course will cover the following:
- Failures to refer - a look at recent cases - Gahir v Ola, Graham v Altaf, Ismail v Joyce, and Shead v Tri Do
- Failures to prescribe
- Failures to monitor
- Safety netting and other advice including Canavan v Gaynor, and Toombes v Mitchell
- The standard of care of other primary care practitioners
