Commonhold - An Update for Property Professionals

Introduction

Commonhold is an alternative property ownership tenure to leasehold. The Law Commission has recently undertaken a review of commonhold to explore ways to make commonhold more popular and available.

The Government has since set up a Commonhold Council comprising key industry professionals in an attempt to reinvigorate commonhold work. They have released a White Paper on Commonhold, setting out their detailed plans for the future.
