Introduction
The law governing consumer credit is complex and, whilst some of the more recent legislation has sought to clarify and consolidate older legislation, the Consumer Credit Act 1974 still provides much of the essential framework for these matters.
These provisions, particularly those regarding issuing a default notice before terminating a consumer credit agreement, need to be understood and followed otherwise finance companies could face detrimental consequences.
