Introduction

As managers, HR professionals or business owners, some of the hardest parts of the job can be conversations with employees.

Talking about sickness absence, performance concerns, disciplinaries, recent losses, can all be very difficult conversations. This is made even more tricky when mental health issues are involved.

This new virtual classroom seminar will provide you with the tools necessary to broach difficult subjects with your employees and discuss them effectively.

Led by expert speaker Alicia Collinson, this interactive half-day session, will include peer discussions, case studies, scenario roleplay and Q&A, following which you will receive customisable documents to support you going forward.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • How to effectively structure and prepare for a difficult conversation
  • How to handle difficult conversations involving an employee with a mental health condition
  • Understand how your choice of location, atmosphere and approach can impact conversations and identify ways in which you can adapt to suit people's needs
  • Understand what psychological safety means in the workplace
  • Identify unconscious bias and how to overcome this in conversations
  • Develop your skills and confidence through interactive case studies and scenarios

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
