Introduction

The FCA has repeatedly stated that its concerns about defined benefit (‘DB’) pension transfer advice is a key supervisory priority. Several thematic reviews have shown the quality of this advice to be well below the standards that the FCA expects.

Rules continue to evolve and despite - or perhaps because of - the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, both advisers and product providers can expect continued scrutiny in this area.

This new live broadcast session will provide insights into regulatory expectations when giving and reviewing DB pension transfer advice, gained from recent work with firms and other industry parties.

You will gain a better understanding of how to balance technical compliance with good outcomes, and the practical steps that firms should be taking.

The session will consider the likely impact of COVID-19 on the regulators’ approach, including the delayed FCA final guidance following its consultation paper 19/25.
