Introduction

Charities enjoy considerable public support but with that comes a greater expectation from the public that they be run properly. Recent cases highlighted by the media show instances where charities have failed to heed the warnings made by staff and major problems have resulted.

The law states that those reporting wrongdoing, ‘whistleblowers’, must not be treated unfairly as a result of reporting an issue.

However recent cases have shown that reporting is not without risk or consequences for both the whistleblower and the charity.

This short webinar will explore the issues relating to whistleblowing as well as the general obligations of disclosure that are imposed upon a charity.
