Some may even be under the misapprehension that it is ‘risky’ tax planning, or an avoidance scheme.

Others do advise on this planning but are using an outdated model that results in unnecessary tax charges.

Anyone who advises business owners on estate planning should understand double dip planning and be able to advise their clients on how it works and advise their clients’ executors on how to implement it.

In some cases, it fully doubles the tax saving available from business assets.
