Introduction
In recent years, cyber-fraud claims have been increasing exponentially with much of the losses never recovered.
However, recent developments have shown that the Commercial Court is prepared to develop its jurisdiction to give the victims of cyber-fraud the tools needed to trace, identify, seize and recover the proceeds of frauds perpetrated against them.
Drawing on the experience of CMOC v Persons Unknown [2018], this webinar will explore how to obtain a judgment against recalcitrant cyber-fraudsters which can be enforced worldwide.
The webinar is aimed at commercial litigators dealing with asset recovery and fraud litigation.
What You Will Learn
This short webinar will cover the following:
- How do you obtain a judgment against non-attending defendants which will be enforceable internationally?
- What causes of action are available and how have the Courts developed the legal principles to cover cases of cyber-fraud?
- Other than recovering the sums stolen, what other losses can the victim claim from the fraudster(s) and their associates?
This webinar was recorded on 23rd April 2019
