Introduction

This new virtual classroom seminar will provide employers and HR with guidance on how to deal fairly with allegations of sexual harassment in the workplace and ensure that the new duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace is complied with.

Consideration will be given to the different types of sexual harassment and how to reduce the risk of sexual harassment occurring in your workplace.

This will be coupled with an understanding of how to run a fair and thorough investigation and grievance/disciplinary process to avoid any reputational risk for your business.

  • Why #MeToo matters
  • Surveys on sexual harassment carried out by the Equality and Human Rights Commission 2018 and the Government Equalities Office 2020
  • How sexual harassment at work is defined in law
  • The new duty for employers to take reasonable steps to prevent Sexual Harassment under the Worker Protection Act
  • Sexual Behaviour Code Frame provided by Government Equalities Office
  • Recommendations on best practice around preventing sexual harassment at work
  • How to run a full and fair investigation to establish the facts in line with the Acas code of practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • When and how to use Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) in settlement agreements
