Introduction

Sibling relationships are often the longest lasting and closest relationships of their lives with each other. Following the Nuffield research by Professor Daniel Monk, it is now standard practice for sibling together and apart assessments to be directed in care proceedings and the quality of such assessments can be variable.

Sibling groups can provide challenging issues within care proceedings, especially when adoption is proposed for some but not all of the sibling group.

This virtual classroom seminar will explore some of the common issues that arise when considering sibling contact in care proceedings and how the courts deal with them.

It will highlight and explore both good practice and common flaws in sibling assessments and consider issues of contact in care and adoption proceedings.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • How the courts have dealt with common issues relating to sibling groups
