Introduction

A new form of moratorium in Scotland to give breathing space to individuals who are in debt and experiencing mental health problems has been subject to much debate.

The Bankruptcy and Diligence (Scotland) Bill, which main provision includes the power to introduce a mental health moratorium through secondary legislation, has been approved by the Scottish Parliament.
