Introduction

Onsite CQS assessments are now actively being carried out nationally by The Law Society as a matter of routine.

CQS compliance is not merely the successful completion of the CQS application process. Compliance is reliant on meeting the obligations within the Scheme Rules which is often overlooked.

CQS accredited firms should be able to demonstrate compliance with the Scheme Rules, and the 2022 Core Practice Management Standard must now be embedded in practice and is expected to be evidenced as part of the CQS assessment.

It is therefore imperative that CQS practices take the time to review their documented policies and procedures to ensure that they comply with the current Core Practice Management Standard, as they will be required to provide key policies to The Law Society within two weeks of their notification of being selected for the assessment.

During this webinar, former CQS Lead Assessor Tracy Thompson will provide guidance for practices on how to interpret the wording of the standard and apply compliant procedures. Tracy will also provide an overview of the key features of the most recent updates to the CQS scheme, and will highlight particular areas of difficulty in demonstrating compliance for firms as identified during her years of experience engaging with CQS accredited practices, whether as an assessor or a CQS consultant.

This webinar is specifically designed for firms who are already CQS accredited, however it will also be beneficial for those firms who are seeking to achieve or are currently working towards attaining accreditation.
