The Conveyancing Quality Scheme Guidelines - Demonstrating Compliance

Introduction

Since May 2022, onsite CQS assessments have been carried out nationally following their announcement earlier that year stating CQS accredited firms should be ‘assessment ready’ by May.

The updated 2022 Core Practice Management Standard should also now be embedded in practice and will be expected to be evidenced as part of the CQS assessment.

It is therefore imperative that CQS practices take the time to review their documented policies and procedures to ensure that they comply with the 2022 Core Practice Management Standard as they will be required to provide key policies to The Law Society within two weeks of their notification of being selected for assessment.

The CQS scheme rules are intended to be a working document with updates being made as required following changes to the standard, new relevant legislation and suggested best practice, with the most recent update to the CQS Scheme Rules having been made as recently as July 2023.

During this webinar, CQS Lead Assessor Tracy Thompson will provide an insight to conveyancing practices of the most recent updates to the CQS scheme and will identify to practices particular areas of difficulty in demonstrating compliance for firms as identified during the CQS assessment pilot.

This webinar is specifically designed for firms who are already CQS accredited and those firms who are currently working towards attaining accreditation.
