Introduction
The FX Global Code (‘the Code’) came about through joint efforts between central bankers and the private sector in the wake of scandals in the global FX markets that shook public confidence.
The Code established 55 principles covering a range of areas such as governance, information sharing and ethics.
The Code is voluntary and does not have the force of law.
The Code was updated in 2018, 2021 and in December 2024.
This new virtual classroom seminar will interrogate the current status and evolution of the Code, the extent to which it has been adopted and implemented by Market Participants (as defined by the Code), criticisms of the Code and what the future may hold for the Code in light of conduct risks in the Global FX markets.
