Christopher Loxton
Christopher has a broad civil practice and frequently appears in the High Court’s Chancery and King’s Bench Divisions, the Commercial Court, the TCC, the Business and Property Courts, and a multitude of county courts in and out of London.
Christopher undertakes court, drafting and advisory work in a wide variety of matters relating to aviation, including:
• Hull damage claims
• General aviation claims
• Leasing and acquisition disputes
• Insurance disputes
• Airport disputes
• Manufacturing and outfitting disputes
• Carriage by air disputes involving EU regulations, Warsaw and Montreal Conventions and associated passenger, cargo, baggage, delay and denied boarding claims.
• Regulatory and compliance issues (including threatened CAA enforcement action)
• International carriage by road and sea claims, including under the Athens Convention and the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR)
• Travel claims, including under the Package Travel Regulations, particularly representing airlines in “mixed liability scheme” claims
Christopher is currently ranked as a band 3 in UK Bar: Aviation in Chambers & Partners. He is the author of chapters on Articles 20 and 21 in The Montreal Convention: A Commentary (Elgar Commentaries in Commercial Law series), 2023
